How to lock Desktop icons in Windows



1. Start run ( window + r ) and type regedit

2. Navigate to the following key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.

3. Right-click in the right panel and select New, DWORD Value name it to NoSaveSettings and press the Enter key.

4. Right-click on the new NoSaveSettings item and select Modify. Enter 1 in the Value data box. After this, whenever you restart Windows your desktop is locked and no one can make changes to it.

If you want to remove it, set the key value to 0 or just delete this key from registry
