How to lock Desktop icons in Windows



1. Start run ( window + r ) and type regedit

2. Navigate to the following key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.

3. Right-click in the right panel and select New, DWORD Value name it to NoSaveSettings and press the Enter key.

4. Right-click on the new NoSaveSettings item and select Modify. Enter 1 in the Value data box. After this, whenever you restart Windows your desktop is locked and no one can make changes to it.

If you want to remove it, set the key value to 0 or just delete this key from registry

How to take Ownership of a System to enable all rights

1)  Locate the drive where you installed your OS ( normally C: drive ) and goto windows folder and search for explorer.exe

 2 ) Just right click the explorer.exe file and click the advanced tab as shown below


3 ) Just click the owner tab and click edit, a list of users will be shown to you, just select the user that you given administrator rights( username that appers in the welcome screen ) and click ok.


4 ) Again right click on explorer.exe and click edit. Select the users and tick full control option for the required users and thats it you are now the administrator by all means.

Reduce BOOT time and Increase your System speed

1) Open Start Menu and search for Run and click it. ( window + r )
2) Now type in msconfig.
3) Go to the "startup" tab.
4) Now you will see bunch of filenames, addresses and boxes with checks in them, now you can choose what files you dont wanna, when your computer starts.
5) Goto Boot tab and then advanced options.
6) Then select the number of processors to maximum.(by default it will be one ) this will increase your boot speed.
7) Save your settings and you are done.

Make Custom Run Commands



1) Open Start Menu and search for Run and click it. ( window + r )

2) Now type regedit and hit Enter.

3) Now navigate to the following path :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / App Paths

4) Now right click on App Paths and select New Key and name it whatever you want (i named it firefox.exe)

5) Now click on firefox.exe and have a look at the right hand side panel. You will see a String Value named default. Double click on it and in the value data field enter the path of the program that you want to execute.

(I made command for Firefox so it will be C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe as the value)

6)Exit from the Registry Editor (regedit)

7) Now open Run again and type firefox.exe and hit enter and you will see Firefox.
